We heard from Albat and Stephanie Del Tufo, assistant professor in the School of Education at the University of Delaware, who studies individual differences in learning, language and literacy. Then we also have continued our webinars series with our Center for FacultyDevelopment and Innovation.
Similarly, higher education faculty have limited or no opportunities to learn how to teach with technology, including how to find, evaluate, adapt and use technology to enrich learning. Educators should also use the UniversalDesign for Learning framework from CAST as a guide for creating inclusive educational experiences for remote learners.
When I talked with Josh Eyler, director of facultydevelopment and director of the think forward quality enhancement plan at the University of Mississippi, about the problem with grades on the Teaching in Higher Ed podcast, he urged us to recognize that: “The more we focus on grades, the less we focus on learning.”
I love what many of the universaldesign for learning people say. We’re noticing a lot of resource sharing by folks in higher ed and in schools—and sharing information about what their campus or school is doing, including teaching tips. We would love to be able to help you just make that move.
