In recent months, I've focused on bridging the gap between in-person and distancelearning. Reflecting on my own experience and seeking out teachers who are combining analog and digital tools to succeed, I've developed four tips to help educators shrink the divide between the worlds of in-person and distancelearning.

Before they can think about welcoming back students, schools will need to prepare for the new year with tighter budgets and a better way to support distancelearning, among other seemingly endless questions.
But in the tech-dependent era of distance and hybridlearning, clear and consistent communication—about grades, assessments, learning targets and a host of other school-related matters—may now be more important than ever. Justin Hall, who teaches math at Rancho Cucamonga Middle School , understands this need well.
These tools incorporate game elements, such as points, rewards, and leaderboards, to make learning more engaging and interactive. They are often used to teach subjects ranging from languages to math in a fun and competitive environment. These tools make education more accessible, especially in distancelearning contexts.
