In the UK, the National Literacy Trust reports that just 28 percent of children aged 8 to 18 said they enjoyed reading in their free time in 2023.

Only 1 in 8 elementary teacher prep programs adequately teach math

In fact, research shows that math scores predict future earnings better than reading scores. Early math skills also predict student success in other subjects like reading and science. Better math teacher prep will strengthen aspiring teachers and lead to greater math achievement for students.
