Don’t just use video for lectures; the format can also be used to welcome students to your class, provide feedback (much preferred by students to print feedback) and walk through assignments. Fourth, be brave and conduct a mid-term, anonymous evaluation of your course. Second, you can’t employ too much video.

Law: Given that most evaluation forms are filled out at the end of the semester, a lot of students feel like, "Well even if I provide that feedback, it doesn't really benefit ourselves in that scenario." So, it really depends on how eager the student is to help improve the whole situation and the course specifically.

I consistently read in my course evaluations that students appreciate this effort and feel a sense of community in my classroom as a result. Posting grades and feedback weeks or months after assignment submission is frustrating for students, especially for assignments that build on one another. Enter grades and feedback in a timely manner and show students where to find your feedback after the first assignment is graded.
