Colleges have long had offices designed to support students who have learning disabilities and to encourage broader accessibility in the classroom and beyond. Our administration has done well at communicating, and the faculty have done a really great job of moving online quickly. Is it going pretty smoothly? Has it been a little rough?

Language for the disability statement in their syllabus. Some of the faculty who want a quick fix already “get it,” meaning they come in valuing diversity and inclusion and/or come in with a strong critical analysis (think antiracist, feminist, queer, critical disability, etc.). How do they feel in your class? Start strong.

However, students who ask for extra time on tests/projects, high levels (30%+) of extra credit, or to make up work weeks or months later, without having responded to any communications or requests for updates/accommodation needs… and still do not go to the Office of Accessibility… am I being a hard ass?
