Their needs, skills, interests, pacing, preferences, and language proficiencies are incredibly diverse. I realize that flexibility can feel a bit daunting, both in our design work and as we facilitate a learning experience. This shift in control demands that learners assume more responsibility for their learning.

As I’ve embraced blended learning, I have transformed many of my whole group, teacher-led lessons into student-centered, student-paced learning experiences using different blended learning models. The playlist model presents students with a sequence of learning activities that they self-pace through.

All of these factors may contribute to a lack of motivation to produce thoughtful writing at home.

If the learning objective is for students to craft a strong argument, you can provide them with different levels of support and different ways of demonstrating that skill.
